MARION TRAPOLINO, PRESIDENT and Co-Founder
Marion is trained as a social worker with clinical program administration and program development experience. Her duties include advising on clinical and general program development, and general administration of the project during the development phase until an Executive Director is hired.
THE REV. BETH MAGILL, Co-founder
Beth is an ordained Episcopal priest currently working with the Episcopal Diocese of Texas. She was inspired by the work of Magdalene House, Nashville through fellow Episcopal priest and founder, Rev. Becca Stevens. Beth is dedicated to creating a community where women can experience the transformation of healing that can happen in community. Her experience is in ministry, program development, and fundraising. Her duties include advising on fundraising, ministerial and general program development, and general administration of the project.
Jennifer Scariano, Vice President
Jennifer serves as the Vice President of the Board of Directors. She is a student at the Seminary of the Southwest and works as a volunteer chaplain at Trinity Center Austin. She earned her B.S. in Sociology from the University of Oregon and has worked in Human Resources for several Austin non-profits including SAFE and Caritas of Austin. She volunteers at St. David’s Episcopal Church, AISD, and maintains a Little Free Library for homeless neighbors downtown. She lives with her husband George and two sons.
ANDY BUSH, TREASURER
Andy is an entrepreneurial business owner, an economist, and a policy, program and data analyst. His duties include advising on organizational start up and development, program development, and data collection and analysis.
KIM TESAREK, LEGAL COUNSEL
Kim is an Austin area attorney that assists Magdalene House with legal matters, from formation to achievement of 501(c)(3) status and ongoing legal affairs. Since graduating from Harvard Law School in 2012, Kim has advocated for underserved women and children throughout the Austin area. She is eager to be a part of the first house and long-term rehabilitation program in Austin for women survivors of human trafficking.
Valerie is a native Austinite who lives with her husband Chico and their two children. Valerie earned both her B.A. in Psychology and her M.S. in Clinical Psychology from Southern Methodist University. As well as being a Founding Board Member of Magdalene House Austin, she also serves on the Boards of Dell Children’s Medical Center Foundation, Anti-Defamation League- Austin, Casa Montessori, and Chaparral Foundation.
Bess serves as Secretary of the Board of Directors. She is an elementary school educator and community advocate. Bess volunteers over 100 hours a year at St. David's Episcopal Church, St. David's Episcopal School, St. Matthew's Episcopal School, and in the Austin Independent School District. Bess advises the Board of Directors on fundraising, community engagement, and relations with other Austin non-profits. Bess feels passionate about providing a safe place for women to heal and feel love, so that they may live happy productive lives.
Alison is a community volunteer and mother of three. She holds a bachelor's degree in Corporate Communications and Public Affairs from SMU. She formerly worked for ExxonMobil in the public affairs division and has also worked in Dallas for various public relations agencies. Since moving to Austin in 2014, Alison has served on the Elizabeth Ann Seton Board, The Dell Children's Trust and Communities in Schools. Alison and her husband Ryan are thrilled to call Austin home.
